The Breast Dress Project

A while back I posted about a location in Toronto where brides can donate their used wedding dresses.  I thought it was convenient that you could just mail your dress to them.  That was until I learned the other day that Ottawa wedding planner Stacey Price of Marry Me Productions and Jamie Johnson owner of Groovy Linen Rentals have started their own project.

Ottawa Brides now have a place to donate their dresses and all the proceeds of these dresses resold goes to Breast Cancer research!  What an amazing thing!

Hey Trixie... I am planning a bachlorette party for my cousin on May 2nd. We're all kinda old and looking for something other than the typical Market Pub Crawl. What do you suggest?

Since we've spoken a little further about this I do have to say that I love your Bond girls idea!  It sounds like a great bachelorette party idea, but if you are concerned that it might be a little much for your cousin there are many other things you can do. 

*  Spend the day at the spa, a place like Le Nordik - www.lenordik.com

*  Go to a comedy show at a place like Yuk Yuk's or Absolute Comedy.  Both places are near other restaurants and bars if you would like to continue the evening after the show. www.yukyuks.com or http://absolutecomedy.ca

*  Look at taking a cooking class for the day.  The Urban Element has great opportunities to try different foods and wines.  It's a great way to spend an evening among friends. http://theurbanelement.ca

*  At home parties, the could be anything (Pampered Chef to Make-up to Fantasia)   

*  Along your idea of Bond girls, what about 20's Style evening, Gangsters, Flappers, feather boas and have a nice dinner then see some live Jazz music.

Wedding in a can?

As I was browsing my twitter account to day I came across this article about a Spokane couple who would like to pay for their with recycled cans!  Their goal to pay for their intimate wedding is 400,000 cans.  Anyone can donate by one of their drop offs or by pay pal.

What would we do without Martha...

Say what you will about Martha Stewart, jail time and jokes aside, she's talented.  Her Weddings magazine just put out it's 15th anniversary edition.

I admit to owning most of the magazines for the last few years.  Believe it or not, my collection still hasn't scared off my own prince charming yet.  They inspire me for the recipes, craft ideas and pretty wedding images.

Good news!

Good news for Wedding Professionals and all the venues out there.

After the wedding show this weekend, an article was featured in the Metro newspaper yesterday suggests that this year will be a much more profitable one for weddings in our beautiful city!  It definitely sounds like it with over 5,000 people attending his weekend's show!

Brides plan ahead, make sure you are booking early!
